Belmont Park Station will be a temporary-use Long Island Rail Road station located on the grounds of the Belmont Park horse-racing facility in Queens. The station is located on a short spur off the Main Line, south of the more recent Queens Village and Elmont–UBS Arena stations, and opened in May 1905, rebuilt in 1957, and then rebuilt again in 2015. It has a combination of two high-level island platforms (with level boarding) and two low level platforms that are only used for major events such as the Belmont Stakes, as temporary wooden stairs are built above the high-level sections.

It has eight tracks but only used four — two on the high-level platforms — for passenger service during special schedules; the station also handled freight cars supplying the racetrack. The entire facility is ADA-accessible, with tactile strips, alternative and gentler ramps, and a crossover at the mezzanine level. While people that take it will already know this, it has no station house or ticket window, just on-board ticketing and machines on-site. Dozens of these special trains run between Penn Station or Grand Central and Belmont Park on Belmont Stakes race day, transporting thousands of fans to the track and demonstrating the station’s vital role in handling crowds during event times.
